Question: Can anyone define true love?

Some people know when there in love, and some people don't. I would say being in love, means you can't explain it. When your love is true, and looks, money, etc don't matter, you can't explain your love.

You know when you're in love. It's when you feel so strongly for another person that you couldn't bear to live without them. You simply ache for them when they are far away. It is such a powerful emotion that can hardly be completely described, but you will feel it every waking moment of your life. Sometimes you will argue, or they will hurt you. But love is all about knowing how to forgive and learn from your mistakes. Love grows stronger by the day, and even more after those times when things are bad. You are there for them when they need you them the most and you just listen when they are hurt. You offer a helping hand and you let them lean on you. You hurt when they hurt and cry when they cry. You would do anything for their happiness and safety. At the same time, you smile when they smile. Their successes become your own. Most importantly: 1, you trust them. 2, you can communicate with them. If you can't do either of these things, then there is no love. But if you can do those things, love and anything else is possible. I hope this helps :)

I asked that question a couple of days ago. Tru love is when you put your lover before everything. be honest with them. Cry over their loss even months after they are gone. Cry over the thought, just a thought, of losing that person. That is true love.

True love is the way you feel about someone you feel like your walking on air. you all of a sudden get ticklish for no apparent reason. you cant get them out of your mind and they are the only one you cant live without. you feel they have changed your life even when your the exact same person. they make you feel pretty and girly or the other away around for boys. you always feel safe around them and you love the way your bodies fit together when you hug or get close. you just dont know until you have fallen for yourseves. im in love lol <3

I knew I was in love when a relationship became non-difficult. When interesting things to talk about filled the air. When I became completely selfless and, only, cared for her because love is the only thing that can take you outside our yourself, replacing your thoughts with thoughts of her (or him). You can't think without think of her (him). Everything is brighter, better, prettier, sweeter, fresher etc. Everything is illuminated (I think that's a movie but it gets across my message) and when you're in love, you're in it, Like drowning in the feeling. It's crazy, really.

True, unconditional love is just a fairy tale. Love is many things to many people but all love can be broken (except parent/ child love). I was truly "in love " with my ex husband. Then he couldn't handle life and betrayed me. While I still care, that "love " is gone. To me the only thing that comes close is a relationship based on mutual respect, caring, kindness, and attraction. Hold on for dear life while it lasts and hope for the best.

I think True Love is all the little things that take you off guard but make you feel amazing. Of course without trust and honesty play a huge part. But that's not just it. Like how your partner will surprise you with a gift you never saw coming. Or holding you just because he/ she thought you seemed upset. Knowing the best way to make you smile even if you're in the worst mood - one time i was having a hard time at home and i'm a really hopeless romantic, the type to think about picket fences and children running around. He just held me in bed telling me all the things he thought about in the future. Stuff like that makes me melt inside. He did the cutest thing too, wrote me a letter apologising for not being romantic enough even though to me any letter from him is just a love lettter haha. Oh it has to be mutual , obviously. I don't know. I love my boyfriend. :] 2 years, which i guess isn't too long. But I'm only 18 and we've stuck together, which some people find hard for a gay couple. :]

Yeah some one ur willing to do anything an deverything for never giving up on them and never letting them feel down always loving them in everyway possible known to man kind. just always being there for them ups and downs every way. i find true love as a figure of speech, its just a more powerful way of saying u really love somone. its a matter of would u take a bullet for the person u love (i have) .. if they killed sum1 would u help barry the body ( i would) its just the fact of always having there back all the time. thats all. im engaged to this guy ive known since we were 16 1/ 2, we are now 19, and have a beaituful baby girl. im willing to do anything for him because the love i have for him ive never had in my life! and thats a fact. my mum was never around dad was gone it was always me n my 3 brothers n big sister in the riverside county social services custody. and no1 loved us and wen i met joe i fell head over heels in love with him and 2 months after we got pregnant. loveing sum1 more than u could ever love anything is somthing specail and should b kept special for ever. i never want to loose my heart. i cant live without my heart. ya digg

Great question and Shakespeare wrote many plays and sonnets expressing his true love all throughout his life, so I was surprised to read that he might have never loved his wife. Yes, he was known to be a great husband and father, his first child born when he was only 18 and his wife was 26, but apparently his heart and love might have belonged to another. I think love is reflective of one’s own self – if a person is superficial in self-love I do not see how she/ he can give “true love� to another. Each of us have examples of what we think “true love� initially during our early development – parents that continue to dote on each other and are affectionate usually raised kids that have the same expectations. Parents that are violent towards each other usually raised kids that tend to be violent physically, emotionally or in other ways might or will repeat and expect the same behaviors shown by their parents. Those of us raised without and signs of expression have no expectations (most of the world) then we should learn what “our true love� needs are. Some of us need things, money, physically contact but if we are balanced we should be happy with a little of everything. Parents that act loving in front of the children & then gets divorce – send their children mixed messages and those kids might grow up with deep fears of commitment; as do children exposed to different forms of violence. Therefore “true love� is each person’s definition of “love� and that is defined by our experiences esp. when we are young. When asked “if you love me, why would you cheat, hit me, make me feel bad� it’s too hard to answer because it would depend on how you learned to “love.� Saying it is unconditionally is to vague – if someone I loved wanted me to do something I really object to doing do I truly love him/ her; and if I refuse they could ask the same question.
