Question: Want to date women and marry but i'm in lots of debt?

Looking for dating advice: I'm 43 and still single. I would like to meet a woman and settle down and marry but I'm in a lot of debt that will take 2- 3 years to clear up. Should I still search for someone or should just wait it out? Please note I am also religious and have to wait until marriage to have sex. I would love to settle down now with a wonderful woman and have a great marriage (and lots of lovemaking!!!) but the debt issues really eat at my confidence. I've tried the "be friends first and see what develops " strategy but it doesn't work. It feels awkward when I meet a woman my age or a bit younger and she has a house/ condo, nice car, and good job while I have a dumpy apartment and take the bus. So in a nutshell, should I wait or date? Thanks for the responses! I don't have anyone in particular, just the thought of going 2- 3 years without any chance of a relationship is hard to handle. I'll take some of the suggestions and not look so hard but if someone comes along I'll see if she wants to go out.

Do you have a plan do get rid of your debt? Because you want to know how you're getting rid of it before you go out and spend money on a woman taking her out to dinner or wherever. Do you actually have a specific lady in mind you would like to date? If not, perhaps it's best not to go searching for one but wait. That will give you some time to start paying off your debt so when that special someone does show up, you will be in a more financially stable situation. I don't know all the factors in your situation right now, but this is the best advice I have for you. Best wishes, trebleclef_queen

I found someone that didn't mind that I had no money. That's how I know shes the right kind of person. It'll be a good test of the right type of character. Also, I went bankrupt so my debts were wiped which is good unless you own your own home which they'll take. Otherwise you just have to sit it out for three years for making those financial mistakes.

A woman doesn't want a man that doesn't have his stuff together. Get a second job, pay off your debts,fix up your apt(nice and tastely done) and try to get a car. this may take 2 yrs to do it but it's also about self pride.Wait.
